It will be critical that sales/support/customers know that they still get the 1st 2 levels of claim scrubbing as part of their claims contract (x12 validation, payer specific validation). Based on contracting they may be charged for custom validations (3rd level), for example if they want us to stop claims with certain values their billers are creating. This “add on” is only the 4th level, compliance scrubbing.
Compliance scrubbing can be executed a few different ways based on the PM but basically, this is a level of claim scrubbing that looks at coding compliance (CCI, LCD, etc.). Information such as they should not be bundling the services or they may receive reduced payments (based on their coding) also comes back on a claim. How they are creating their claims impacts their revenue and this tool is the capstone. There is a flyer being worked on by marketing, it is still in the review/approval phase and I am sure that once it is finalized it will be made available.
